How to coach and teach youth to use the basketball scissor-cut play
In modern day terminology, this tried
and true three-man basketball play is often called the first cutter,
second cutter play. This three-man play is as effective, today, as it
was in 1930. The scissors-cut utilizes an inside and rear screens,

however, because boxing out technique is vastly important, too, if you
expect to gain possession of many defensive rebounds...Read about it>>>

for three players. There are almost as many ways to attack as there are
players.... Read how to do it

A
two-on-one basketball game that shows you how to coach and teach
basketball players to play aggressive man-to-man defense
Here is a simple game that will help
you teach aggressive basketball man-to-man defense. It is called
"Basketball Cut-Throat Game to 21". Playing this game was great fun when
we played it 75 years ago in the barnyard back in Indiana and I'm sure
kids will love it today. This is how we learned to play aggressive
basketball man-to-man defense....Read

How to
teach youngsters fast break basketball
The fast break is the ultimate
offensive weapon in basketball. It affords maximum penetration to within
a fifteen-foot radius of the basket on all occasions, and its
effectiveness is usually determined by the amount of time spent in
developing and exploring these fast breaking possibilities....Read more>>>

A basketball coach's philosophy of
team's offense
All coaches believe the
objective of any basketball offense is to score as often as possible on
each possession of the ball. That is one thing on which we all agree.
Determining how that objective is accomplished, however, is another
matter.....Read the entire
